2018 Football Schedule Released

The St. Lawrence University football team's 2018 schedule will feature eight opponents the Saints faced in 2017, the return of SUNY Morrisville after a one-year hiatus, and the Saints' first meeting with Thomas More.

The Saints open the season with five non-league games, hosting Utica for a Friday night tilt to open the season on August 31 before defending the Hoffman Cup against Norwich at Leckonby Stadium on September 8 for Homecoming Weekend.

St. Lawrence goes on the road to face 2016 NCAA semifinalist SUNY Brockport on September 15, then plays at Morrisville in their second Friday night contest of the season on September 21. The Saints did not play Morrisville last season, but did win the last meeting between the teams, 28-0, to open the 2016 season.

Thomas More, based out of Crestview Hills, Kentucky, and also nicknamed the Saints, will make a 700-mile journey to Canton to play on campus during Family Weekend to wrap up the non-league portion of the schedule.

"We are looking forward to competing with such a quality opponent for Family Weekend," said head coach Dan Puckhaber. "Our non-league schedule will challenge us and prepare us to be at our best when we start league play."

The Saints will open the conference schedule at Rochester on October 6, then host Union on Oct. 20 after a bye week. St. Lawrence then faces Ithaca and Rensselaer on the road on October 27 and November 3, respectively, before finishing the regular season at home against Hobart, with the team honoring the senior class on November 10.

"Our class is coming together and we feel they will complement the talent on campus already," said Puckhaber. "We're looking forward to working with our returners in a few short weeks."
