Lucy Hochschartner earned her first EISA top-15 finish of the season and
Timothy Cunningham took home the top men's placing to lead the St. Lawrence University Nordic Ski team on the final day of the Saint Michael's College Carnival at Sleepy Hollow in Huntington, Vermont Sunday afternoon.
Hochschartner completed the 10-kilometer freestyle course in 30 minutes and 23.4 second to bring home 30 points for the Scarlet and Brown and 24 individual NCAA points. Classmate
Jackie Garso was not far behind, placing 14th in 30:28.2 for 29 team and 20 NCAA points.
Hochschartner currently has 45 NCAA points, while Garso has accumulated 56.
Cunningham gave a season-best performance placing 49th in the men's 15-kilometer freestyle. Cunningham completed the course in 41:54.7 seconds to earn 12 points for the Saints.
George-Henry Werowinski earned 11 points for the Saints, while
Matthew Young placed 81st for five points.
St. Lawrence earned another 99 points on day two of the Saint Michael's Carnival. The women took home fourth place, while the men took home 10
th, and collectively took home tenth place overall with 178 points. The University of Vermont took home first place on the weekend, while Dartmouth and Middlebury took home second and third, respectively. Â
The Saints will travel to Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont to compete at the University of Vermont Winter Carnival on February 2-3. Â
