Greg Carey was named both the ECAC Hockey Player of the Week and ECAC Hockey Player of the Month in voting by the league's coaches as announced Tuesday.
Carey scored two goals and assisted on three others to earn the weekly honor, helping the Saints to a split of its series at North Dakota. He had a goal and three assists for his third four-point night of the season in game one, a 5-2 Saint win which was the first ever at North Dakota for SLU, and scored the second Saint goal in a 3-2 Saturday night loss.
His five-point weekend helped him take over the national lead in scoring. He has 29 points on 11 goals and 18 assists in 16 games thus far this season.
He had an outstanding month of November, taking over the nation's scoring lead with 21 points in ten games. He tied for the nation's goal lead in November with nine and added 12 assists, also best in the nation for the month. His 10 power play points and seven power play assists also led the country for November. He scored in all ten games in the month and had a goal in nine of the ten. He is currently on a 11-game scoring streak.
It is his second career Player of the Month designation and he will be a candidate for national Player of the Month which will be announced later this week.
The Saint senior has been ECAC Player of the Week three times thus far this season, Oct. 15, Nov. 12 and this past week. He has been player of the week four times in his career.
